After a successful two months of Student Council hosted events and sports wins, students reflect on some of the highlights. 

Bringing Down the House (Points)

No houses have made advancements in points, and Poseidon still holds the lead at a total of 100 points; do not fear, though, for December will hold many competitions!

Raise Your Spirits for Homecoming!

Student Council hosted the first ever Homecoming Dance on the 17th of November, which was preceded by the first Spirit Week of the year. High schoolers enjoyed food, drinks, and a nightful of dancing! Student DJs livened the event.

Halloween (Not-So) Horrors

Staff, students, and parents alike executed yet another successful Halloween celebration. All performances shined, with varying degrees of chaos. “Eleventh grade looked the most cohesive, with everyone following the white and gold color scheme,” an anonymous Poseidonian reveals. High school students also enjoyed the HS staff performance, themed 1960s beatnik. Additionally, the seniors received surprise Halloween Boldús, and the PA generously provided the ninth through eleventh with scary Dunkin’ Donuts! The chaos of the day didn’t stop the celebrations, and staff and students alike persevered! 

Scream! StuCo Movie Night

What better way to relax and spend time with your friends than by cozying up and watching a movie? Well, with Student Council’s new instatement of afterschool movie nights, you now can! The first movie night occurred on October 26th in the High School Library, with a screening of Scream just in time for spooky season. All proceeds from the tickets went to fund the later Homecoming. As for a future holiday movie night, students can keep on the lookout…

The Lynx Den: Sporting Events (Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball)

ASB celebrated the return of multiple sports teams from tournaments. Girls Volleyball Juvenil returned from the ESC Tournament in Berlin with fourth place out of twelve teams. The Boys Volleyball team also participated in the ESC Tournament, but in Switzerland, placing eighth; Poseidonian Diego Recinos stated that even with this great achievement, that the team can’t wait to place even higher next year.
