Amended: A Collection of Poems

Closest to the Moon

I would say you’re like the sun
But no clouds could ban your light

So I say you’re like the stars
But they only shine at night

And I’ll compare you to the Moon
Because you never quite
Shared with me…
Your dark side

The Mountain’s Peak

I must avow
That I shan’t keep
Away for long
If time you seek

I must recall
That I can’t sleep
Until alone
And my dreams grow deep

I do uphold
To what I speak
If I ever reach
The mountain’s peak

The one with stairs
And a tower might be
The one to meet you…
As I pass away overnight

Amended

Amended
It is not fully changed

Amended
It distantly remains

A mended phrase
A mended life
A mended love
And wounded rife

Amen dead-are
The words of faith
Changed but by truth
Of our own wraith

While the Rest of the World Isn’t Looking

I think not of
The prior steps
The ones just taken
Without much depth

I think not of
The rivers dry
From mountain tops
Water arrives

I think not of
How much it rains
For some see only
The dress without stains

I think not of
The changes made
While the rest of the world isn’t looking.
