Fall has finally come
Foliage free falling never fails to impress
Feeling free
Frolicking through fields full of ferns
Fifty unforgettable flowers flourish
Fixated on fine fiber filament inside the flora
Fennel stew fuels the flesh
Flavor finds its way to the famished
Fantasizing over foggy nights in flannels
Falling in love with fall
Falling apart when it finishes
Funny how fast it vanishes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She curls up on the couch with a cup of coffee in her right hand.
She knows what time it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Time to watch Gilmore Girls.

Remote in her left hand, about to click play
when her dad tells her she forgot to clean the dishes.
A sigh escapes her thin lips as she sets down the coffee and remote.
When she returns,

someone has taken over the couch.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s the cat.
She tells Mr. Meows to move,
and he replies with a long yawn.
She carefully grabs Mr. Meows and places his him on his bed
next to the couch.

when the room goes dark.

Mr. Meows is out of sight.
Funny enough, so is her coffee.
She can hear her dad lighting a match in the kitchen.
He brings out a candle and places it in front of her.
Mr. Meows looks like a ghost which makes her giggle.
The ticking of the clock on the wall, the quiet purring of the cat
are all she can hear.
Minutes pass before the power is back on.
She snatches the remote before anything else happens.
Coffee in her right hand, she clicks play.
Crickets Crickets Crickets
She carefully opens the remote and to her surprise,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the battery case is empty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pumpkin patch, pumpkin patch, where have you gone?
It\u2019s been ages, years, since we\u2019ve sung our song.
Cinnamon donuts, candy, and tea
Oh take me back, I\u2019m begging you, please.
Fall afternoons, scarecrows, and hay labyrinths
Two thousand thirteen, I\u2019ve thought of you since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only seven but don\u2019t forget a thing.
